MAAGC 2020 March 13-March 15

The seventh annual Mid-Atlantic Algebra, Geometry, and Combinatorics (MAAGC) workshop will be held Friday, March 13 - Sunday, March 15, 2020 at University of Virginia in Charlottesville. 

This year, the workshop will be organized around an AMS sectional meeting where there will be even more excellent talks on related topics.

We are soliciting applications to participate in the poster session!  Requests to present can be submitted on the  MAAGC registration form .

MAAGC is supported by a National Science Foundation grant and a Mellon Tri-College Roots grant.  Funding is available for regional travel and housing. Register by February 1, 2020 to receive full consideration for funding for travel and housing. Some funds for childcare are available -- please contact the organizers as soon as possible if childcare is requested.

 **If total funding requests exceed available funds, priority will be given to junior participants presenting posters.

Please register for the AMS meeting separately; it will be a great chance to bring together senior researchers and junior mathematicians to exchange ideas and forge collaborations.

The award recognizes excellent research by fellows or associate fellows of the ICA early in their research careers.  “She is a leader in her profession, distinguishing herself in organizing conferences, mathematical outreach and teaching excellence,” said the ICA in a release. Huggan joined VIU in August 2022. She completed her PhD in 2019 at Dalhousie University and was a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada post-doctoral fellow at Toronto Metropolitan University from 2019 to 2021.
