The Fq conference is a biannual conference that covers various topics in finite fields including but not limited to: Theory: structure of finite fields, primitive elements, normal bases, polynomials, number-theoretic aspects of finite fields, character sums, function fields, APN functions. Computation: algorithms and complexity, polynomial factorization, decomposition and irreducibility testing, sequences and functions. Applications: algebraic coding theory, cryptography, algebraic geometry over finite fields, finite incidence geometry, designs, combinatorics, quantum information science. Invited Speakers include:

  • Early registration fee CAD 180 (students and postdocs), CAD 280 (other)
  • Regular & Late registration fee CAD 280 (students and postdocs), CAD 380 (other)
  • Additional excursion tickets for accompanying guests, CAD 110  (based on availability)


Early and regular registration fee includes the Sea-to-Sky Gondola excursion (details at conference website). The organizers will make their best effort to include those with late registration in the excursion, but do not guarantee that it will be possible to do so. Additional excursion tickets can be purchased before June 4, 2019 and based on availabilty. Only a maximum of two additional tickets can be purchased per transaction (if you wish to purchase more than two tickets, please make another transaction).

Registration process:
Participants should scroll to the bottom of this page and click the Sign up/Login button to register (You will be required to create a PIMS account if you do not already have one). Payment is collected through UBC and receipts will be emailed direclty to you. 
  
Deadlines:
Early registration closes on March 18, 2019 (4:30pm Pacific Daylight Time).
Regular registration begins March 18, 2019 (4:31pm Pacific Daylight Time).
Regular registration closes on May 26, 2019 (4:30pm Pacific Daylight Time).
Late registration begins May 26, 2019 (4:31pm Pacific Daylight Time).
Late registration closes June 4, 2019 (4:30pm Pacific Daylight Time). 

Refund policy:
$50 penalty up to two weeks before the event, no refund thereafter.
